4th Year Student Project at ITU
Concept Design, 3D Visualisation
The design brief for the project is creating a space to benefit Karaköy, Istanbul by using a science-fictional technology. Defining technology as a tool to replicate reality, Intervision space uses "architecture as a new 3D communication medium".
Significant structures, objects or events are physically recreated in real scale, using "smart bricks" that can rearrange themselves. A surrounding structure composed of slim nano-cabon tubes provides support for the observation decks and rooms, while staying transparent to showcase the re-enacted object to the city. The building is seamlessly integrated to the city with its open ground floor forming a square and amphitheater in the middle.
